Mission
The field of substance abuse is so demanding Circle
of Light has taken an “All hands on deck” approach. Substance abuse
counselors along with pastors is a persistent structure and valuable
instruments of community outreach that demands patience, compassion,
commitment, and an interested desire to help others in crisis. We will
interrupt and tear down the old wreckage of the addict. This will allow
them to have a positively new direction. Crisis intervention is extremely
important to addicts and requires a non-bias and nonjudgmental attitude
with an empathetic and a supportive approach regardless what situation the
addict is in. Some addicts hold themselves responsible for their problems.
Because we are active listeners helps alleviate their fears and doubts.
Circle of Light Support and Recovery Center help them resolve problems in
a more insightful and fulfilling way and assist them through some of their
greatest challenges that includes controlling anger, stress, isolation,
loneliness, guilt, and shame. We help them clarify what is important in
their lives and to get in touch with the inner person.
It is unfortunate many people in the addict
population are lacking help in many crucial or all areas of their lives.
Therefore, since we have been bless in many areas, we can assist them
through our grass root food pantry, vocational and training, GED classes,
housing, a place to worship, health and wellness, children daycare,
24-hour infant daycare, spiritual-life skills, mentoring, public
transportation, re-entry, and prayer. We will also direct them to a
variety of other services pertaining to a family agency, housing
authority, attorney, physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, welfare agent,
and other professional services that is required of the individual. It is
a battle that must be won.
Our
Objective
Circle of Light Support and relapse Prevention Center
objective is designed to strengthen the ability of our program in
preparing the addict to meet the expectations that is required of them.
This project is significant because it offers an addict the best
opportunity to live a peaceful and normal life with much to offer to their
community. In order for an addict to overcome this life-threatening
disease, compulsive behavior, and to become an asset to the community as
oppose to a detriment, it will take a minimum of 180 days of ongoing
vigilance in treatment and recovery. This project seeks to build on the
strength of its faith-based organizations, which have found themselves on
the front lines of the fight against drug abuse. Educating them to acquire
skills, homeownership, and living productively is our way of teaching.
Eastern Missouri has been an area with high drug use,
crime, violence, and a surge of mental illness due to drug use. This
geographical area is known for crack cocaine, heroin, opiates, and
methamphetamine and is becoming extremely popular among young people.
Needless to say, drug addiction has total disdain for our youth and is
profoundly destroying them along with the destruction of our elderly too.
Drugs and other elements are far more complex with our soldiers while on
tour and when they return to Missouri. All of these drug abuse experiences
including alcohol are self destructing and without proper treatment, our
communities will suffer serious ramifications. This is one battle we
cannot afford to lose.
Circle of Light Support and Recovery Center is
fighting for the lives of Missourians. This project requires a lot of
financial support from corporations, organizations, foundations,
institutions, and individuals. Please, we need your help and your support
in the effort to prevent alcohol and drug abuse.
