Support & Recovery

We sincerely hope the contents on this page will help you make a commitment to participate in our concept to recovery. The purpose of our support, recovery, and relapse prevention program is to clear the wreckage of the past by putting heavy emphasis on respect, hope, faith, love, and understanding. If you want to reclaim your life or obtain a better one you have to be taught how to achieve it. There are two ways your goal of recovery can be accomplished. One is through sobriety and the other is through salvation. Here is the question, “Which one are you seeking?” Either way, we can help you regardless of your choice and spirituality is extremely important pertaining to successful recovery.

Circle of Light Support and Recovery Center discuss recovery through scriptures, common sense, life-events, film, psychological view points, and through powerful testimonies from peers. Relapse is a complex issue and our job is to help alleviate relapsing and to help you become knowledgeable and a better person. This will allow you to be a positive force and an asset to the community. We are peaceful people desiring to help others attain the same goal. Just like the Holy Spirit has helped us in so many ways and especially to overcome many obstacles pertaining to addiction, we want all addicts to share the same common goal. This will enable them to return to the community with the desires to help others. All of this can be done with hope, patience, humbleness, and please don’t forget a lot of praying. Endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3).

There are three main barriers to successful recovery. The first barrier to addiction is cravings. Cravings are considered an instinct or drive to use. Today psychologists use other words. Homeostasis: The tendency for a system to take action to keep itself in a particular state. You have to be cured of your cravings or you will relapse. Circle of Light Support and Recovery can show you the way.

The second barrier to addiction is depression. Men are more likely than women to report alcohol and drug abuse or dependence in their lifetime; however, there is debate among researchers as to whether substance use is a symptom of underlying depression in men or a co-occurring condition that most commonly develops in men (Magellan Assist). Circle of Light Support and Recovery can assist you.

The third barrier to addiction is guilt. Guilt is an act of isolating or withdrawing. If an addict is not careful, guilt will become an uncontrollable feeling and lead them into the trap of addiction. Then there is toxic guilt that says you have no right to be unique, to be the very one you are. To stay in toxic guilt forces you into constantly taking self-inventory (John Bradshaw p.139). Circle of Light Support can assist you.

Temptation is a strong force to your dire addiction. In fact, a temptation in most cases pertaining to recovery is a demonic force. A force that eventually will overpower you.  Why is this happening? It is happening because you have no power. Power yields to power.  You cannot overcome something overpowering you unless you get the power to overcome it. Even though you feel powerless and overpowered, recognize who and what you are dealing with. Pastor Jeff Johnson Jr. taught thousands of people how to obtain that power. He taught us and we are teaching others in recovery with success too.

It is important to find a support and recovery facility or group and have a consistent involvement. Self-help groups are a cost-effective, time-effective, and treatment-effective solution for dealing with some types of psychological problems (Schacter, Gilbert, and Wegner p. 558). It is a safe environment in which members have established trust and they can speak freely and honestly. Group members make a commitment and sign a confidentiality form stating, “What is discussed in group stays in the group.”
